Just as the name suggests, enterprise applications are those built to suit the needs of enterprises or organizations. These applications are not built with a private user in mind. So, you’ll find that only organizations will benefit from them as opposed to an individual. All the software systems implemented in hospitals, schools, church organizations, and so on, fall into this category. They may even include custom applications even though the latter isn’t restricted to organizations alone.

Good examples of enterprise software are customer relationship management (CRM) software, marketing automation software, and business intelligence software. As a private individual, you won’t find value in CRM software because customer relationship management is none of your concern. The same can be said about market automation software designed specifically to allow for the automation of the marketing processes that may be there in an organization. The same goes for business intelligence applications as those are designed to help with business intel processes in an organization, which is irrelevant to you as a private individual.
